Condition Report
One very tiny corner chip, hairline since it was
in the kiln from the right edge, abouttwo inches on
the face and less than an inch verso. Very light
touches of rubbing to some high points, perfectly
clean and brilliantly glazed.
|
An excellent design that fills the tile with
movement, indented and embossed, nice olivy
green background , almost lime green leaves and
blue-green flowers.
Verso very clean with distinctive Malkin
moulding.
|
The origin of the hairline is the chip here seen
mid left edge. It can be seen that the glaze ran
over the edges of the tile in a few places and
stuck the tile to the kiln furniture, the hairline
was caused when removing the tile. It has been
there the life of the tile, around one hundred
years, and is of no great concern.
