Top left corner filed for original installation,
no other damage. Style: Art nouveau chequer A nice art nouveau chequer tile with floral
motifs in very typical colours. Both a plus and
a minus, collector like bold colours but yellows
and greens are great for comforting interiors,
would be great to compose a harlequin set in
similar colours but different designs. Verso very clean, pattern number in
pencil. * There were at least three companies with
Corn in the name and two Corn Bros. E. R. Corn
who started the tile business in 1891 said of
the transfer of the busness to the new Pinnox
Works in 1903, "at the same time, the existence
of two other concerns bearing the family name
-"Corn Bros." and "Corn Bros. & Co." -
having led to confusion, the name of W. & E.
Corn was allowed to lapse and the firm became
"The Henry Richards Tile Company Limited".
