Three tiny rim chips, top left corner trimmed
for the original fixing, 'chip' just above half way
left side is a glazed over manufacturing flaw, some
light rubbing on green segments. Style: Art nouveau A rarely found tile from George Marsden.
Again we see his lack of conformity as the plain
squares of the chequer pattern aren't plain,
they continue the design adding rippling water
effects to the water lilies of the main
decoration. A five colour tile. Verso very clean unmarked save for rubber
stamped pattern number which indicates a 19th
century introduction date.
