A rather rarely found tile from a series
depicting the nursery rhyme Who Killed Cock
Robin. This the boldest of the series and most
unusual to see a muscial stave depicted on tile,
usually found in brown print but this a superb
blue on white.
The song first recorded in the 18th century
although may be earlier, the origins obscure and
debated, most nursery rhymes contained a
message, an aphorism for children to learn and
carry forward in to later life.
Verso very clean but some stain from
adhesive, embossed Craven Dunnill etc.
