A most rare and fabulous tile from the
leading art tile company of the late nineteenth
and early twentieth centuries. Entirely
hand-made in the arts and crafts manner with
plastic clay body and the pattern formed with
tubeline. Glazed in three blues, aqua, royal and
celeste, with dappled bright yellow and light
purple, rare and favourite colours.
The tubeline thick and heavy in the arts and
crafts manner of the times, the colours rich and
intense, the glazes outstandingly brilliant, a
rare taste of the pinnacle of the genre of the
times.
This the last of the group to be offered for
sale indeed I thought that stage had already
passed however I found I had added two to my
collection.
Verso very clean, impressed Sherwin &
Cotton's triangle and rope trade mark, painted
pattern number.
