Tiny chip bottom edge otherwise perfect. Style: Art nouveau A good, full art nouveau floral design with
the heavy arts & crafts style outline.
Rarely seen, this the last of a group of four
the only examples I can recall seeing. Rich
cobalt blue flowers with yellow centres, two
shades of green for the foliage and olive green
background. It is only the fifth tubeline registered
design I have seen. The first was a slender
tulip design on a 4" x 6" blank, apparently a
factory sample, the design seen a few times
subsequently on 3" x 6" and 2" x 6" tiles but
never with the registration number. There is a
6" x 6" tubeline design by Marsden, another by
Corn Brothers and a pair of five tile panels by
Bellison a merchant from Twickenham, no doubt
there are others but they are of course very
rare. Verso very clean, embossed England.
