Perfect rim, minor surface marks mostly rubbing
near bottom corners. This is a great design with a touch of art
deco feel and unusual arrow-like leaves which
makes me think of a traffic sign, pass either
side. A bit full for use in fireplaces and
furniture when framed so less usable than most
popular designs of the day but still found from
time to time especially in washstands. Designed
by James Henry Rudd of Barnstaple, his tiles and
others by Godwin & Hewitt can be found in
furniture by Shapland & Petter also of
Barnstaple. Versos very clean, embossed England and
design registration number, painted pattern
number. Style: Art
nouveau Perfect rim, minor surface marks mostly rubbing
near edges.
