Minute chip bottom edge, very minor surface
marks. Style:
Art nouveau An amazing tile with this rarely found
technique, transfer printed with slim outline
and hand coloured finished with a coloured
majolica glaze. The first of this technique I
have seen by Richards the vast majority by
Marsden on his own and in conjunction with
Wedgwood. The design also seen by another
unknown company or maybe two being both printed
and majolica, this the first seen by Richards
and quite unexpected. So a very interesting tile
for the afficianado but not limited to interest
for it is a real joy to behold the image on the
screen can barely approximate the brilliance and
colour. Richards also produced a limited range of
patterns with broad printed outline painted with
coloured majolica glazes rather than underglaze
painted, see 07030,
07001,
07002. One only. Verso very clean, embossed England and the
rarely found H. R. T. Co., printed pattern
number.
