Two slight losses to the rim otherwise
perfect. Style:
Rococo A both bold and twee design in the rococo
style a style I find most interesting as it was
perhaps the most limited of the historic
classical styles so how it was interpreted by
artists is an education. Popular although far
from dominant in the late victorian and
edwardian eras it survived all the new
fashions. This tile would be easily passed by if it
were not for the colours with its
inconsequential centre but the colours really
lift it, the blue and 'gold' are superb with the
red flowers adding vibrancy. A registered design
giving credence to the timelessness of the style
but rarely found in such brilliant colours. Verso very clean, printed pattern and
registration numbers.
