For sure predating the well known Animals of the Farm engraved by Wise and engraved by another hand. I can recall seeing just four or five apparently from the same series all representing farm animals the designs being essentially circular I surmise originally made for tableware and probably dating from the 1860s. This tile made by the china works after the split of the companies in 1868 with a fully glazed verso for use in flowerboxes, jardinieres etc. Verso perfectly clean, glazed, embossed Mintons etc and badge.   Information Tiles For Sale Contacts Order Information
