We like to be as helpful as possible for those seeking tiles to restore/repair/make good original installations, hearths, entranceways, splashbacks etc. however locating a few plain/border tiles and all that it takes to get them approved (i.e. colour matched etc.) and dispatched takes a disproportionate amount of time. If you want help you must: 1. Send photos of the tiles of similar tiles to those that are missing/damaged and photos of the installation where the tiles are missing/damaged. 2. Advise dimensions: both square and rectangular tiles were made in multiple dimensions. 3. Advise the quantity required.
With forty years of dealing in tiles, selling 10,000+ antique fireplaces 1980 - 2000 and seeing at least 10x as many there are few with similar expertise. There are 100,000+ different types of plain glazed tiles, scores of different manufacturers each producing dozens of sizes and shapes in scores or hundreds of colours. There are 100,000+ decorative tiles many in dozens of colourways plus possibly hundreds of plain colours. With all but the most popular tiles finding an exact match is near impossible however many manufacturers produced similar, often they are mixed on original installations. There are infinite number of hearth/splashback/dado etc. patterns, sometimes a viable option is to remodel the existing with some alterations and additions if so we may be able to advise. We have some groups of plain tiles here. If £10 or more per tile in perfect condition and a minimum order of £50 is too much then there are innumerable salvage yards, fireplace shops, antique centres etc. who may have some cheaper, there are even usually a few on eBay. Almost inevitably such are in poorer condition, require cleaning, may have to be collected and if posted may either arrive damaged or with copious amounts of packaging material sourced from the recycling bin secured with dozens of yards of adhesive tape. We do not stock unglazed floor tiles. |
